In formspring, honumaee asked:
“Heey(: , It’s Honumaee. Can you tell me some programs like Photoshop? Besides GIMP, I use that already ^^”
I typed an answer, but I felt that is was way to long to post on Formspring, so I’ll post it here.

Here are some other programs I know of:
- GIMP : An alternative program for Photoshop~ a lot of people use it and it’s a really nice program! Website: http://www.gimp.org/
- InkScape : Not a program for drawing. BUT, it’s nice for making logos, buttons, backgrounds, etc. There is no eraser and stuff -_-; but you can really make cool things with it(I guess???) http://screencasters.heathenx.org/ is a tutorial website I use full of video tutorials! Website: http://www.inkscape.org/
- Paint.NET : It’s actually like PAINT, but better I guess because it has layers and stuff…. great for pixel making~ ^^ Website: http://www.getpaint.net/
- SAI : It’s kind of like a japanese version of Photoshop… costs money though.. But it’s a really nice program for drawing! Has a lot of simple, but great, drawing/editing techniques ^^ Website: http://www.systemax.jp/en/sai/
- Corel : Corel has many programs… you could say that Corel is like “Adobe.” Adobe has many programs, like Photoshop, and Corel has many programs, like Corel Draw 11 ^^ Website: http://www.corel.com/
- Art Rage : It’s another drawing program kind of like PS, but I guess simpler? It’s compatible with PSD files too~! Website: http://www.artrage.com/
- Manga Studio : A drawing program to draw “actual” manga[comic]-looking pages. It has many versions~ It contains tools to make art look like professional manga… includes inking tools, and comic tones :3 Website: http://manga.smithmicro.com/
- Koolmoves : It’s simply like flash~ not a drawing program, but for animation. You could also create a website with it, or interactive games. I love this program and I have been using it ever since I was in 5th grade! Website: http://www.koolmoves.com/
- Google Sketch Up : This is more of an architect kind of thing… created 3D landscapes, for planning houses, apartments, etc. You can create your own dream home~ ^^ Website: http://sketchup.google.com/
- GIF Animator : That’s right, you’ve guessed it! It’s simply just a GIF maker… whooo~!! For creating GIFs practically~ Website: http://www.gif-animator.com/
- Art Weaver : It’s close to Photoshop and Paint mixed together. It’s actually a nice program because it can record you creating your drawing, and playbacks in video for you or others to see your way of drawing~ Website: http://www.artweaver.de/
- MMD : Want to learn how to start Animating? Here is a simple Vocaloid tool for animating. Working, creating, and building with bones to animate your character. There is an english version for this~ you can download more models online, or you could create your own using PMD Editor. The website I give you has the download links of the ENGLISH version, so don’t worry! ^^ I suggest to get V1.2 (Multi odel Edition) so you can put more than one model in your animation. It looks complicated, but I found it easy to use once learned! You must have patience if you’re a beginner~ Website: http://www.geocities.jp/higuchuu4/index_e.htm
- ALICE : An animation program for students~ very useful if you want to start learning how to animate in 3D! Website: http://www.alice.org/
- Scratch : In this one, you can learn how to create games, and animation. The drawing tools aren’t the best though. It’s main purpose is for creating games, and I guess animation. If you know a lot, A LOT, about it, you can actually create really nice things! Don’t think it’s easy… haha. Website: http://scratch.mit.edu/

I know quite a few more, but I’ll stop here~ ^^There are many more amazing art programs out there! It wouldn’t hurt to do some researching… that’s how I found all of these ^^
